Veterans

Baltimore International College is approved for the training of veterans, service persons, disabled veterans, survivors and dependents of veterans. It is the sole responsibility of the Veteran's Administration (VA) to determine eligibility and approve the payment of benefits. Veterans are encouraged to contact their local VA regional offices to determine eligibility.

It is the veteran's responsibility to schedule an appointment with BIC's Registrar to complete the application for benefits. Prior to enrolling for classes, the eligible person must submit to the Registrar a copy of the discharge or release papers (Form DD214) or documentation of his/her current military status. The Registrar will submit an Enrollment Certification to the VA Office within 30 days of the veteran's original enrollment date.

Credits may be granted for prior training, including experience gained while on active duty, if that experience can be applied toward the graduation requirements of the program for which the veteran has been approved. BIC will evaluate the veteran's rank and MOS Code to determine the veteran's military training experience. Veterans will be granted credit for previous academic experience, following the transfer of credit procedures. BIC will notify the veteran and the VA of any courses accepted in transfer, and will maintain a copy of the "Credit for Prior Experience/ Transfer of Credit" evaluation in the student's permanent record.
