International Students

Admissions requirements and acceptance procedures for international students are the same as those for students who are citizens of the United States, with the exception that international students whose primary language is not English must supply evidence of satisfactory command of the English language.

Students may do so by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and scoring at least 75 on the computer-based test, or scoring at least 500 on the written test, taking and passing the Baltimore International College Assessment Exam, or graduating from a United States' high school.

BIC has been an approved Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) school since August 2002. SEVIS is an electronic system to collect, maintain and track information relative to international students as mandated by Section 641 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA), Public Law 104-208. This system is used to process the international student's Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) that is required for entrance into the United States. The international student must provide an Affidavit of Support (Form I-34) to the BIC Admissions Office. The Affidavit of Support verifies funds will be available for educational and living expenses while studying in the United States.

The international student must also submit form I-901, Fee Remittance for F Non-immigrants, and pay the $100 processing fee. This form is available online at www.FMJfee.com. Once accepted, the prospective students should apply to the American Consulate in their respective countries for an F-1 Student Visa. Contact the Admissions Office for more information at 410-752-4710 ext. 120.
