Kid's Chance of Maryland, a non-profit corporation, was developed by the many volunteers in Maryland's legal community, in association with insurers, employers, and the labor, medical and workers' compensation community. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial scholarships for children of catastrophically or fatally injured workers to complete their higher education.
Eligibility: Children who have had a parent catastrophically injured or killed in an employment-related accident in Maryland. Students must be between the ages of 16 and 25. The parent's death or injury must have resulted in a substantial decline in the family income.
Scholarship Amount: Varies. The award is given for one semester and the student must maintain acceptable grades. The student must reapply at the end of the semester to continue. The scholarship covers tuition, fees and books.
